For more than 30 years, she has been a strong and vocal advocate for the lot of seniors: the vulnerable, working to ensure the care and support they need to have a better quality of life, aging in place, housing, age-appropriate health care, income security, disability support – the list is long. Among her many positions, she chaired the Community Care Access Board from 2000 to 2002. She has served as a member of the Successful Aging Task Force and the Aging at Home Task Force. From 2003 to 2005, Carol was Chair of the Board of the Council on Aging (COA). On April 28, 2010, Carol was the recipient of the COA’s Pioneer award. From Carol’s early days with COA addressing many seniors’ issues, she has helped shape the services and care that seniors in Ottawa benefit from today". She brings this same passion and energy to her position as Chair of the Journey of Hope campaign.
