Preparing the site: May 10, 2010 |

With the site now cleared of debris, the beginning of Cornerstone’s new facility became visible as the preparatory work continued; the red brick building in the background is on the west side of Booth street looking south. Credit: Photo by Gord Metcalfe A familiar installation on every construction site, the crane is up and visible from several blocks away. The grey building in the background is on Eccles Street, west of Booth Street. Credit: Photo by Gord Metcalfe These two photos show the progress being made on the foundation and basement area of the building. Over several days, 44 loads of concrete were poured to install the footings, the foundation walls, the sheer walls and finally the basement floor. Photo 1 shows the preparatory work necessary to get ready for the concrete to be poured; photo #2 shows the basement floor nearing completion. Credit: Photos by Gord Metcalfe |
